Natural Insulation

Known for its environmentally friendly make-up and sustainability, natural insulation can help you insulate your home or project without harming the environment. As well as being a firm favourite for those looking to insulate listed buildings and heritage properties, natural insulation can be installed in walls, floors and rafters to achieve fantastic u-values. Whether you’re building an eco-home or looking to retro-fit insulation in your current home, you can be sure to find a product from Insulation Superstore that suits your needs.

Insulating listed buildings

Insulating listed buildings can be tricky, especially when you’re dealing with roof spaces and walls with pre-existing timbers. To ensure you’re not harming the timber frame or anything else for that matter, you can install natural loft insulation such as sheep’s wool to preserve the original frame. Sheep’s wool made from 100% sheep wool is absolutely safe to install over any frame, and thanks to its high moisture content it’s not easily combustible and will extinguish itself, adding another element of protection for a listed building.

Recycled insulation

Natural insulation is often manufactured from recycled materials, including insulation from recycled plastic bottles. SupaLoft Recycled from Thermafleece for example is manufactured from 100% recycled polyester and is made almost entirely from recycled plastic bottles. This insulation quilt can easily be installed in loft spaces and thanks to the materials it’s manufactured from it’s entirely safe and non-itch.
