Sarking Board
Sarking boards are softwood boards that are designed to fit onto roof rafters, providing extra strength to the building structure. Although they’re not a requirement for all buildings, roof sarking is typically used in areas with high rainfall or environments where torrential rain and high winds are common.
Pavatex has created a range of Isolair sarking boards which are manufactured from wood fibre. Each board has a water-resistant coating and adds structure to the roof, alongside acting as an acoustic and thermal insulator. They can be exposed to the elements for up to 3 months during the construction process, and can also be used as a vapour-permeable water repellent layer in certain types of external walls.
Pavatherm Plus is a wood fibre product that combines both Isolair sarking boards and Pavatherm insulation boards, to create a permeable roof insulation board. This can also be used as a sheathing board to provide additional structure to the roof. On top of this, we also stock the well-known brand Steico.
