Sheeps Wool Insulation

Sheep's wool insulation is a type of insulation made from the wool of sheep. It is a natural, sustainable, and renewable material that offers excellent thermal insulation properties. The wool is typically processed and treated to remove impurities and pests, and then compressed and formed into batts or rolls for use in insulation.

One of the key advantages of sheep's wool insulation is its ability to regulate moisture. The wool fibres can absorb up to 30% of their weight in moisture without compromising their insulating properties, which helps to maintain a consistent indoor environment and prevent mould and mildew growth.

Sheep's wool insulation also has excellent acoustic insulation properties, making it an effective sound barrier between rooms or from external sources.

In terms of environmental benefits, sheep's wool insulation is a sustainable material that is biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable. It has a low carbon footprint compared to other insulation materials, as sheep farming and wool production are relatively low-impact and energy-efficient.

Installation of sheep's wool insulation is similar to other types of insulation, with batts or rolls placed between studs or joists or adhered to surfaces. It can be used in both new construction and retrofitting of existing buildings.
