Dot and dab adhesive
Dot and dab is one of the ways in which you can fix plasterboard. Dot and dab can be used with a range of different adhesives, and involves the application of plasterboard adhesive at regular intervals along the plasterboard, before pressing the board firmly against the desired location to secure. How to use scrim tape
Scrim tape is one of the most common products found in the plastering industry. Scrim tape is used to ensure plasterboards are connected seamlessly and prevents gaps from forming between the plasterboards.
To use scrim tape, start at the top, where two plasterboards join, and apply a couple of inches of tape. Then simply pull the tape down the joint, pressing it securely onto the join. Once you reach the bottom of the plasterboards, cut with scissors or a sharp knife and secure the end of the scrim tape.
Acoustic sealant
An acoustic sealant is an adhesive that is used between plasterboard and other insulation boards, particularly when working on acoustic insulation and soundproofing. An acoustic sealant is used to seal any gaps, preventing the transfer of noise between rooms, which can pass through even the smallest of gaps. When acoustic insulation boards are used with acoustic sealant, a complete barrier is created, and soundproofing will be much more efficient.
