Learn moreThese WBSW Masonry insulation fixings provide a straightforward method for securing insulation to masonry walls. With a range of lengths available to suit your installation needs, they are suitable for use with insulation of 50mm to 400mm in thickness. Approximately five fixings per m² are required.
With a quick and easy installation process, simply secure the insulation in place, drill through the insulation and into the masonry with the 5.5mm diameter SDS drills to your desired depth and push the SureLino fixing into the hole in the insulation and push home. Then, drive the screw into the hole in the SureLino fixing using the 350mm long screwdriver bit and drive the screw into the masonry until the SureLino fixing head has compressed the insulation slightly.

Question:
is the length based on the size of the insert and the screw length extra, also will these fix in to wood. I am looking at the 60mm to fix 75mm PIR to an existing flat roof which is already sealed with torched on double layer bitumen felt so that they go through the PIR, felt & OSB in to the 6x2 roof beams to give the thermal break. I am putting a warm roof on a garage to use as a work shop. 75mm being the maximum to keep wihtin the 2.5m rule
Answer:
The length of the WBSW Masonry Screw for TORX 60mm is the total length of the screw, not just the insert. They are designed for use in masonry, but they can be used in wood. However, they might not hold as securely in wood as they would in masonry. For your project, given that you're working with 75mm PIR insulation, a bitumen felt layer, OSB, and into 6x2 roof beams, you might need to consider screws that are longer than 60mm to ensure a secure fixing and to achieve the thermal break you're looking for. Please note that while these screws are highly versatile, we can't guarantee they will be perfect for your specific project. It might be worth discussing your project with a professional installer or the technical team of SureTwist, the brand of these screws, to ensure you're getting the right product for your needs. Also, we have a range of insulation fixings and accessories that might be suitable for your project, so feel free to browse those as well.
Question:
Can this be used to fix insulated plasterboard? What is the head diameter?
Answer:
Yes you can use this to fix insulated plasterboard which isn't a problem, and I would recommend contacting the manufacturer direct about the specifics of the White fixing itself.
