Product Description

Sempatap Thermal solid wall insulation is a 10mm thick roll of insulation manufactured from latex foam that’s faced with a coated woven fiberglass layer. It’s been used in many applications by local housing authorities, private landlords and homeowners to minimise their energy bill and improve the thermal performance of their home.

Sempatap Thermal can be applied to any solid wall including brick, concrete and stone as well as ceilings on flat roof extensions, dormer ceilings and mansard roof ceilings. In these applications Sempatap Thermal will lower heat loss and reduce the build-up of condensation. With a 30-year life span, Sempatap Thermal solid wall insulation can be decorated directly over the top of with emulsion or wallpaper and Sempatap Thermal can even be tiled.

Thanks to its roll form Sempatap Thermal is applied much like wallpaper. A primer and adhesive is applied to the surface and then Sempatap Thermal is rolled out like wallpaper. Since it’s only 10mm thick there’s no need to fiddle with extending services like plumbing or electrics and the additional 10mm thickness in the wall won’t present any problems with reflooring as it’s a negligible figure.

On a standard solid 9 inch brick wall, Sempatap Thermal can make the wall up to 30% more efficient offering thermal resistance of 0.194m2 K/W.

Which side of the roll is to be glued on the wall?


Sempatap Thermal is applied foam side to the wall. 


Hi, We're looking for a slim insulation to apply to our cavity brick walls. The brickwork is plastered with lime, which helps with moisture buffering in the house, so we were happy to see that Sempatop is breathable. Can you tell us the vapour resistance of Sempatop and confirm if the adhesive is also breathable please? Also, can you tell us how long the adhesive and Sempatop take to fully offgas? We have chemical sensitivities and can't see Material Safety Data Sheets on your website that tells us exactly what the products contain. Thank you.

Heard about Sempatap from an eco-home improver. It's supposedly breathable. Easy to put up if you follow instructions/video. If you are a DIYer, buy direct from MGC as it has a discount scheme for home improvers & is very helpful on queries. If it reduces some of the heat loss from my 2 solid external walls then it will be worth the cost. Tip: The surface needs to be lined if you are painting as it's textured not smooth.
