Description

A durable and resistant barrier, this Thermo-loc Platinum Plus Multi Cavity Closer effectively eliminates cold bridging and damp from around walls, windows and sills. It forms an appropriate Damp Proof Course and thermal barrier between the inner frame and outer wall leaf.

The multi-width profiles are easy to cut on site. This means that your cavity closers can suit numerous cavity width requirements. Both rigid and lightweight, the UPVC profiles are equipped with insulation material.

This closer shuts openings in cavity walls, including external walls and windows, and can also be used to pre-form openings when the door and/or window frames are yet to be installed. These cavity closers are non-load bearing and are not an adequate substitute for traditional methods of fixing window and door frames to masonry.

The cavity closer exceeds the minimum thermal resistance path of 0.45m²k/w stipulated in the accredited construction detail.

Please note:

  • Joining 'off cut' sections should be kept to a minimum and not carried out to sill sections.
  • Insulation should be extended from the lower closer profile to allow this to slot into the upper profile to maintain a rigid section.
  • All overlaps should be sealed with tape.
