SFUF can be used in floors, walls, roofs and any place that requires slim high performance insulation. SFUF can also be used under screeded & laminate floors as well as over or under suspended floors. It is also ideal for insulating underfloor radiant heating pipes and has grid marking to assist with laying of underfloor pipes. This product will contribute to the air tightness of your building and provides sound insulation & reduces impact noise up to an estimate 22dB.
SFUF provides a thermal break to reduce or eliminate cold bridging when turned up the walls. SFUF contains multiple reflective layers that reflect radiant energy into the room and can be used to meet or improve uValues in both new build and renovation projects.
SuperFOIL SFUF is a multi-layer foil insulation for use with solid and suspended floors. Can also be used to insulate in other areas, including walls and ceilings. Consisting of 13 layers of reflective foil, thermo foam seperation layers and topped with a PE layer. SFUF is the ideal for use with hot water underfloor heating systems as it is a low profile, thin insulation product. SFUF reflects heat back into the room, at the same time improving airtightness and resisting the passage of moisture.

SFUF with wet underfloor heating:
Lay SFUF on a clean, dry and smooth surface. Start at the edge with a minimum of 100mm lapping up the wall. Install your underfloor heating and screeding to the manufacturers recommendations.
SFUF over joists or suspended floors:
Start at the wall edge with a minimum of 100mm lapping up the wall edge. Roll SFUF out over the joists. SFUF can then be staples in place, onto the joists. Where rolls meet, butt the edges together and seal with foil tape. Decking should then be installed over the SFUF in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines.
SFUF under joists on suspended floors:
Rolls SFUF out over the joists. SFUF can then be stapled in place, onto the joists. Where rolls meet, butt the edges together and seal with foil tape. Seal the SFUF around the perimeter or lap it up the wall above the floor deck.
Question:
Can this be glued down
Answer:
Preferably not, the product is purely designed to be mechanically fixed via staples to ensure a clean installation. Glue or adhesive can detrimentally affect the foil perfomance.

Question:
You show the foil over joists and flooring on top. Can the foil to the underside of existing floor.
Answer:
The product can serve as a luxury thermal underlay for flooring applications - please see the data sheet for more info - https://www.insulationsuperstore.co.uk/user-guides-brochures/sfuf-data-sheet.html
Question:
Which way up should SuperFOIL SFUF be installed?
Answer:
The branded foil side, with the protective polythene layer, should face up into the room.
Question:
What tape should be used with SuperFOIL SFUF?
Answer:
SuperFOIL Superior Tape can be used for sand cement screed applications and any other uses such as window reveals, wrapping steels etc. If using a liquid anhydrous screed, a good quality 100mm wide non-foil tape should be used.
Question:
Can SFUF be installed directly under screed?
Answer:
Yes, SuperFOIL SFUF includes a protective layer of polythene which separates the insulation layers from the screed. All seams should be butt-jointed and sealed with tape to create a continuous barrier. If a liquid anhydrous screed is to be used, extra care should be taken to prevent the screed from coming into contact with the screed to prevent the foil reacting with the screed. SFUF can be used under screed applications and many other uses such as window reveals, wrapping steels etc.
