Find out moreSF19+ provides a superior iteration of SuperFOIL's reflective insulation, SF19. SF19+ boasts enhanced thermal performance, achieved through cutting-edge manufacturing methods, which have also been developed for SuperFOIL's latest products.
In terms of thermal resistance, SF19+ delivers notable R-values of 1.54 at the core, 2.97 for walls and 2.49 for roofs, as well as offering optimal options and solutions with U-values as low as U0.10. Additionally, SF19+ now comes in new, convenient rolls measuring 1.2m by 10m.
This product comprises a total of 11 layers. It has two layers of polypropylene reinforced heavy outer laminated foil, four layers of aluminium coated reflective foil PET, and five layers of loft quilt.
Building regulations compliant, this product is suited to horizontal or vertical fitting. It can also be cut with a knife or scissors.
Question:
We are planning to line a 9” solid wall with sf19 product, we are short on space and would like to know if there is no air gap will it let damp through ?
Answer:
The SuperFOIL SF19+ Multi-layer Thermal Insulation is designed to provide both thermal insulation and an air seal, which can help prevent the passage of moisture. However, it's important to note that the manufacturer recommends a 25mm air gap for optimal performance. If you don't provide this air gap, it could potentially affect the product's insulation properties and may not provide the expected level of damp protection. For the most accurate advice tailored to your specific situation, you might want to consult with a building professional or contact SuperFOIL directly. You can also refer to the product's brochure for more detailed information about its features and installation requirements. Here is the link to the Product Brochure.
Question:
Can this product be laid direct on to an asphalt floor
Answer:
The SuperFOIL SF19+ Multi-layer Thermal Insulation is primarily designed for use in walls and roofs, rather than as a floor insulation. It's best performance is achieved when there is an air gap on either side of the product. It can be installed either horizontally or vertically, but it's not typically used for direct application to an asphalt floor. For specific applications, it's always recommended to consult with a building professional or contact the manufacturer directly to ensure the product will meet your specific needs and comply with any relevant building regulations. For more information, you can check the product's brochure and declaration of performance.
Question:
What is the U-value of the product plwase? Our Energy Performance guy has asked. Thanks
Answer:
We can provide R Value for this as per below.
Roof 2.53
Wall 2.97
Floor 4.28
A U Value Calculation would need to be obtained from Superfoil directly
Question:
I have a 1930s semi and want to insulate my wooden hall floor. It is my intention to use Superfoil, over the joists and then relay the floorboards. Beneath the joist there is a 12-14inch void before the ground. What type of SuperFoil would be best for this job
Answer:
SuperFOIL SF40 Multifoil Insulation – Good balance of thickness and thermal performance if you want a fairly robust insulation layer between the joists.
SuperFOIL SF60 Multifoil Insulation – Even higher R-value if you have the depth and want maximum insulation (useful in colder floors).
SuperFOIL Multifoil Insulation 1.2 x 10m – Standard SF19+-equivalent roll that’s versatile for many retrofit floor jobs.
