Designed for the reduction of impact sound transfer under carpeted areas, this SilentWool Acoustic Insulation Underlay is a roll of 9mm thick Sheep Wool Insulation, which can be used as a premium carpet underlay. It is suitable for use under new or existing carpets in refurbishment projects or new builds.
This SilentWool Acoustic Insulation Underlay is especially popular in older houses where there may be existing gaps in the floorboards, allowing underfloor drafts to make a room feel cold. The thick layer of this SilentWool Insulation under a carpet will also act as a long-lasting underlay, protecting the carpet from premature wear and tear. This SilentWool Carpet roll is 10m in length with a density of 750g/m².
This SilentWool Acoustic Insulation Underlay is manufactured with Ionic Protect, a biocide-free wool protection system. Question:
I have an old flat, floor is traditional timber joist and floor boards. I wish to improve the soundproofing a bit to avoid undue disturbance to the occupant below and change our carpet colour. Existing carpet and 10mm underlay are in good condition. Can I leave the existing carpet and underlay in place and cover it with your silent wool and new carpet. This would avoid waste and reduce footfall noise.
