This product fully satisfies the mandatory CE marking requirements mandated by the 2013 Construction Products Regulations. According to the new European directive, products falling under the scope of a current hEN must adhere to the new standard, rendering third-party accreditation insufficient. Therefore, any products produced after the implementation date in July 2013 must conform to the new CPR standard.

Installation

To install the membrane on the walls, make sure to fix it securely to the wall structure with upper layers overlapping lower layers. Start from the bottom and work your way up, ensuring a minimum overlap of 100mm on the horizontal joints. Avoid starting a vertical lap joint within 300mm of a corner and make sure the vertical laps are a minimum of 150mm. The bottom timber needs to be defended by an overlap.
Use galvanised nails, stainless staples, or similar permanent fixings to fix the membrane at the appropriate intervals. It's important not to unnecessarily expose the membrane to adverse weather, such as strong winds and excessive UV radiation, as this can amount to damage in the long run. If you need to leave the membrane exposed for long time periods, employ compatible temporary protection materials.

Tapes

It is advised that Novia installation tapes are used to significantly enhance the roof's performance and overall airtightness, regardless of whether tape is mandated in a specific zone according to the BS 5534 wind uplift test results. Novia Breather Membrane Lap Tape is ideal for standard installations, while optional Novia Double-Sided Adhesive Tape is offered for high specification projects that focus on airtightness. For optimal installation and airtightness, both tapes can establish a durable, top-quality, breathable and airtight seal.
