If you are searching for a reliable insulation solution for your external full-fill masonry cavity walls, the DriTherm® Cavity Slab 32 insulation is an excellent choice. With its water-repellent glass mineral wool structure, it is unfaced and suitable for use in buildings up to 12m high in any exposure zone, as well as up to 25m high multi-storey applications.
In addition to great insulating qualities, this Knauf slab offers several other benefits. It is odourless, rot-proof, and non-hygroscopic, making it a durable and long-lasting option. The slab is also non-combustible, which eliminates the need for cavity barriers since the risk of fire spreading through the cavity is minimal. With a Euroclass A1 rating for reaction to fire, it has received the highest possible rating.
Knauf Insulation's unique bio-based binder, ECOSE® Technology, is used to make DriTherm® Cavity Slabs. They are designed to avoid moisture transmission from below the damp proof course level or through capillary action across the cavity, as well as to not transmit water to the inner leaf. The British Board of Agrément (BBA) has certified DriTherm® Cavity Slabs for use in a range of exposure zones, including severe areas.
The installation process of DriTherm® Cavity Slabs is far simpler than rigid boards and other insulants. Their material can adapt to the substrate's slight imperfections and knits together to reduce air gaps, which can elevate performance. Lightweight and the ideal size for fitting snugly between wall ties, they can be handled with ease and the need for retaining discs is made redundant. They can also be cut down to size when required.
