Question:
What covering do i need to apply to the foam before tiling?
Answer:
The General Purpose PIR Insulation Board has a foil facing which may not be suitable to tile directly onto. Typically, you would need to apply a layer of plasterboard or a suitable tile backer board on top of the insulation before tiling. This provides a solid, stable surface for the tiles to adhere to. However, it's always best to follow the specific recommendations of the tile adhesive manufacturer, as some adhesives may not be compatible with the foil facing. You should also consider the weight of the tiles and ensure the structure can support them. If you're unsure, it would be best to consult with a professional tiler or builder to ensure the correct preparation is done for your specific tiling project.
