Celotex TB4025 is an easy-to-install multi-purpose polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board with excellent thermal performance. Featuring a low emissivity foil facing, it's ideal for various floor, wall and roof applications. The excellent thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/m.K reduces significantly the thickness of insulation required to meet the target U-value. In addition, the low emissivity foil facing boosts thermal performance in sealed cavity air spaces, further improving U-values.
But that's not all! Available in a size of 2400mm in length by 1200mm in width by 25mm in thickness, this versatile PIR insulation board is light and rigid, making it easy to handle and install. With a BRE (Building Research Establishment) Green Guide Rating of A, it's sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly. Last but not least, TB4025 is certified by the BBA (British Board of Agrement), so you know it's manufactured to the highest standards in the industry.
Question:
I have been advised purchasing this product to be installed on top of existing plasterboard ceiling for soundproofing. On top of it would go another layer of regular plasterboards. Is this product suitable for such use?
Answer:
Given its foil facings, it is impossible to glue the product directly into plaster surface, your best option would be to remove the plasterboards and install the celotex and then mechanically install the plasterboard back over it.
Question:
Can I use this for underfloor heating?
Answer:
The product in question is not certified for use in conjunction with UFH - We would reccomend using Recticel Eurothane in this instance as is suitable for use.
Question:
Can this be used as a retrofit to a solid ground floor with no existing insulation

There is no data to suggest it would be, it would be better to go for the following product instead as is specifically designed for swimming pools and high moisture environments - https://www.insulationsuperstore.co.uk/product/cellecta-hexatherm-xpool-swimming-pool-insulation-board---1250-x-600-x-50mm----pack-of-8-sheets.html
Question:
I am looking to insulate the floor of a room which is above a garage. Can I use this product on top of the suspended floor and underneath the proposed new floor covering (probably Amtico flooring)?
Answer:
Ideally you'd want to install the boards between the joists if it all possible, will create much more work as you'll have to rip everything up but is the correct installation method.
Question:
Can I apply ties or wet wall to this product?
Answer:
Celotex is multi-purpose and so can be installed in a variety of ways, using BBA approved ties is one option, I'd suggest looking at our guide for more info - https://www.insulationsuperstore.co.uk/help-and-advice/project-guides/insulation/how-to-install-celotex-insulation-boards/
Question:
Hi please could you tell me if this would be suitable for a downstairs toilet and can it be fixed to the brick wall using dab adhesive? Thanks.
Answer:
We wouldn't recommend foil facing boards such as Celotex to be bonded using an adhesive.
The reason why is to do with the foil facing on the boards. The foil isn't a particularly porous surface for the adhesive to bond/stick to, and as such the boards would not bond properly, and wouldn't give you a secure fit.
If you are looking to secure Celotex boards to brick walls, we would recommend the use of mechanical fixings to secure them.
Question:
Hi would this be suitable for insulating my shed? Thanks
Answer:
This would be suitable for insulating a shed.
Not only is this product thermally efficient, it is also foil reflective - the foil layers can help retain heat during the colder months, and help reflect heat out of the shed in the warmer months, and plus the sheets are easy to cut and fit between the stud frame, or they can be fixed with screws direct to the shed wall (depending on your planned build up etc)
Question:
Can I use this product to insulate my garage ceiling
Answer:
You can use this to insulate your Garage ceiling. It is perfect to go between both joists and battens, and it can even be fixed mechanically (with screws) directly to the wall if needed, or direct to joists if required.
