Novia’s own-brand alternative to Rustop 970.
NoviaStop volatile corrosion inhibitor (or VCI Paper) is manufactured using pure kraft paper which is impregnated with a nitrite-free proprietary formulation. NoviaStop delivers a protective layer to both ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as some alloys, but without the need for the application of any special protective coatings to the materials in question.
Products requiring protection should be packed in clean, dry and sealed containers, at ambient temperatures. Products are wrapped or interleaved with NoviaStop, and vapours are then naturally emitted which saturate the air space. These vapours form a transparent anti-corrosion protective film on the metal surface, which remains in place within a sealed environment until the container is opened. The vapours then evaporate and disappear naturally; there is no need to remove any remaining residues, and the surface remains unaffected by the entire process. During the period that the metal is covered with this film, corrosion is prevented or at least minimised, depending on the amount of NoviaStop paper used, the length of storage and the tightness of the seal.
