ROCKWOOL's firestop compound is a highly reliable solution for achieving a fire-resistant seal at cable pipe and duct penetrations. The compound has been meticulously developed with a strict adherence to safety standards and has been tested to BS476 Part 20 (1987), ensuring it can provide up to six hours of fire protection.
This gypsum-based formula can be easily combined with water and applied using a trowel or poured around any service penetrations to create a secure seal. The recommended compound-to-water ratio is 3:1 for standard floor openings.
In addition to being a load-bearing compound, it also acts as an acoustic barrier and a smoke seal, ensuring that no smoke is emitted. It is straightforward to use, not affected by humidity, and will need no maintenance over time. The compound sets in as little as half an hour and can withstand light foot traffic in about 72 hours.
