Ideal for boosting thermal performance, this Single Foil Single Bubble Ufoil insulation utilises one layer of polyethylene bubbles coated with aluminium foil on one side. Ufoil insulation materials are designed for use when insulating roofing, wall, and flooring applications.
Ufoil is designed to operate by reflecting up to 95% of radiant heat. The thermal performance Ufoil provides is not affected by moisture or condensation, and the product consists of a corrosion resistant coated, low emissivity aluminium foil. This foil is then backed by a multi-layer air bubble film.
Specialised cavity wall ties with piercing ends are available for bubble/foil insulation and come in two unique designs, as well as include plastic retaining clips to secure after installation. Wall ties allow for the insulation to be placed flush against the blockwork and ties situate it 25mm from the face of the block with three lengths for 60-100mm cavities. Made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel with safety ends, ties have multiple drips to guarantee at least one stays in the cavity.
While horizontal joints are weather lapped, it is required to lap and tape all vertical joints with aluminium adhesive tape.
