Description

Designed specifically for use within sealed systems like curtain walling as well as ventilated cladding systems, this NyRock® Rainscreen 032 is a type of stone wool insulation that utilises patented technology to enhance its performance. The highly efficient fibre structure of the slabs boosts the density of trapped air pockets, resulting in superior thermal insulation compared to traditional stone wool products.

Once installed, this NyRock® Rainscreen insulation effectively resists water ingress during construction due to its high density and the application of a water-repellent agent. The slabs are simple to fit around awkward details such as brackets and when securely pushed next to each other, they 'knit' seamlessly to form a continuous insulating layer that minimises heat loss by closing any gaps.

  • Zero ODP and GWP
  • Breathable and dimensionally stable
  • Low lambda non-combustible stone wool insulation
  • Vapour resistivity of 5.9MNs/gm allows natural drying and minimises the risk of condensation
  • Resistant to water thanks to high-density fibres and water-repelling additives
  • Low thermal conductivity of 0.032W/mK
  • Independently tested for up to 60dB of noise reduction

These NyRock® Rainscreen 032 slabs can be used in various construction projects including a masonry outer leaf with a timber or steel frame and in a cladding system integrated with a steel frame, timber frame or masonry walls. For optimum thermal performance in framed structures, these NyRock® Rainscreen Slabs 032 can be combined with NyRock® Frame Slabs 032.

Can rock wool duo slab be used as a cavity full fill insulation in a small domestic property?

Answer:

I wouldn't recommend this product for a full fill cavity as this Rockwool slab in particular isn't specced for it.
