Description

2 soundproofing layers are laminated together to create SoundMat 2’s acoustic properties. The first layer is a 4mm mass loaded vinyl layer that absorbs sound and was originally developed to replace expensive and heavy lead in soundproofing build-ups. The second layer is a 6mm acoustic closed cell foam layer which is then sandwiched between mass loaded vinyl.

The layers of SoundMat 2 make the product perfect for use in residential buildings or office buildings for reducing the noise of foot traffic between floors. Installation is quick and easy too, benefitting a refurbishment project. SoundMat 2 is laid as it needs to be installed and then is taped together to prevent too much movement. Use an acoustic sealant around the perimeter and in or around any small gaps.

Depending on the build up it can affect airbourne noise by a decibel rating of 47db and reduce impact noise by 45db.

Do you sell sound mat 3 in 1200x1000 or can you supply panels cut to required sizes

Unfortunately it is only available in the set size provided, any alteration will need to be done on site.

Is it fire-proof?

This product is Class 0 burn rate, non-combustible. It is not fire-proof.

Hi I know this is advertised as floor sound proofing but Can I ask if there is a good reason this could not be sandwiched between plasterboard as used as wall sound proofing ?
