Acting as a more cost-effective alternative to firestop pipe collars, ROCKWOOL's intumescent pipe wrap is designed to protect plastic pipework and electrical trunking in both floors and walls. These innovative pipe wraps have been tested to BS476: Part 20 to guarantee up to four hours' fire protection.
Water resistant and requiring no mechanical fixings, this maintenance-free design fits most trunking sizes and is manufactured from layers of a graphite-based intumescent sheet which is then encased in a polythene sheath. Available to suit pipes up to 160mm (O.D.), the product wraps around the outside of the pipework and fixes in place with a self-adhesive strip.
Should fire occur, the material will expand to fill the void left behind by burnt-out plastic, providing installation is completed to the manufacturer's instructions.
