Polypad encapsulated suspended ceiling pads comprise 150mm of Knauf Earthwool Loft Roll 40, a glass mineral wool, sealed into a polythene bag to thermally insulate above ceiling tiles. For ease and for efficiency when installing, these ceiling pads simply sit atop of ceiling tiles in the suspension grid to offer insulating properties.
Suspended ceiling pads can be moved easily and fit elsewhere so there's no permanent commitment to the insulation or to the ceiling itself, perfect for commercial offices and schools. They've been designed with fibre free locations and hygienic areas in mind as the bags seal any glass mineral wool fibres inside. Glass mineral wool fibres are notoriously itchy to the eyes and skin and inhaling them can cause medical problems. Polypad suspended ceiling pads are sealed tightly to avoid any such issues.
These suspended ceiling pads will help to achieve thermal conductivity of up to 0.040 W/mK.
