How should I calculate the correct size BodenWärme heating kit?

Due to heating mats not being able to be shortened or cut to size, you need to find the right size kit. To do so, calculate the entire floor space area in metres squared (m²) and minus any space occupied by fixed furniture with less than 50mm clearance from the floor. This way, the risk of hot spots can be removed. After this, subtract an additional 10% to allow for the spacing between the mats and around the room's perimeter. The final number is the necessary kit size in m². It is important to note that single thermostats can control up to 24m², so larger areas are best divided into numerous zones with multiple thermostats.
