The double intumescent putty pad from ROCKWOOL is constructed from a non-setting, flexible silicone-based intumescent polymer. It provides installers with a versatile alternative when maintaining fire resistance and acoustic integrity in plasterboard that's been partially penetrated by socket boxes.
This double-gang putty pad is pre-cut in a cross shape for ease of installation, offering low smoke emission and a long service life without the need for installing baffle boxes.
Manufactured in accordance with the relevant fire and acoustic settings of the 2006 edition of the Building Regulations (approved document part E and B, sections 7 and 7.12 b, this putty pad is designed to expand under conditions of fire, preventing fire from spreading throughout plasterboard walls. It will activate as soon as temperatures reach 200°C, effectively preventing the passage of any flames or smoke.
