Ideal for purchasing as part of the Monocouche XF render system, MonoMesh XF is employed to hinder the occurrence of cracks in render surrounding openings and extensive sections of masonry.
It is advised to incorporate alkali-resistant fibre mesh into areas of typical stress in constructions, such as above and below windows and doors, as well as at horizontal intersections between different substrates, like ring beams and coursing bricks. This approach is considered good practice and should be featured in tender documents and technical recommendations for the range of Monocouche products.
When you prep the substrate for the beading of render, incorporate the mesh into the Monocouche. If you're using the polymer-modified key coat (MonoBase XF), you can embed the mesh during this process. Slice the mesh into a strip that extends beyond the junction or weak point by 300-500mm, or enough to cover the whole façade depending on the size of the masonry substrate. Smoothly press the mesh into the fresh render using a trowel or spatula, and then apply an additional layer of render to enclose the mesh.
