The DriTherm® Cavity Slab 32 insulation is an excellent solution for your full-fill external masonry cavity walls due to its superior insulating properties. Made from water-repellent glass mineral wool, this unfaced insulation provides fantastic thermal performance.
While being odourless, rot proof and non-hygroscopic, these Knauf slabs are also non-combustible and do not require cavity barriers since the risk of fire spreading through the cavity is minimal. They have received the highest possible Euroclass A1 rating for reaction to fire and are made with Knauf Insulation's eco-friendly ECOSE® Technology that uses a unique bio-based binder. The slabs refrain from transmitting moisture from below the damp proof course level or through capillary action across the cavity, and they will not transmit water to the inner leaf.
These DriTherm® Cavity Slabs are certified by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) for use across all exposure zones, including severe areas. They are appropriate for application in buildings up to 12m high in any exposure zone, as well as up to 25m high in multi-storey applications.
Installing these DriTherm® Cavity Slabs is far easier than rigid boards as they can adapt to the substrate's minor imperfections and knit together, reducing any pesky air gaps for optimal performance. Structures are lightweight, making them easy to handle, and slabs can be seamlessly cut to size when applicable. To ensure short-term protection, they come in polythene packs. Their size is also perfect for snugly fitting between wall ties to inhibit the need for retaining discs.
