Features & Benefits: British Gypsum Gyproc Plasterboard Tapered Edge Moisture Board - 2.4m x 1.2m x 12.5mm

  • 2400mm length x 1200mm width x 12.5mm thickness with tapered edges
  • BES 6001 Certification achieving a "Very Good" rating
  • Gypsum core with water-repellent additives and firmly bonded paper liners
  • 8.6kg/m² weight
  • Class 1 fire rating on both sides to BS 476
  • 0.07m²K/W thermal resistance and 0.19W/mK thermal conductivity
  • Ideal for environments with higher humidity
  • Perfect for dry lining internal surfaces
  • Green face and reverse side paper
  • Easy to cut with a plasterboard saw or sharp knife

With an easy installation process, fix the board with the decorative side out, allowing for joint treatment or a sleek skim plaster finish. Gently butt the boards together, ensuring they are not forced into place. Install fixings no closer than 13mm from cut edges and 10mm from bound edges. Position cut edges to internal angles when possible, removing paper burrs with fine sandpaper. Stagger horizontal and vertical board joints by a minimum of 600mm between layers. Locate the board at the centre line of framing where it supports board edges or ends.

Gyproc jointing materials make joint reinforcement straightforward, creating a continuously smooth, crack-resistant surface ready for priming and your chosen decoration. Numerous jointing specifications are available to suit the board type, application method and site preference. You can cut the board with ease using a plasterboard saw or scoring with a sharp knife and snapping it over a straight edge, ensuring a precise fit for your project.

Application

  • Plastering: Typically, this Gyproc moisture-resistant board is not recommended for skim plastering. It is designed for environments with higher humidity where standard gypsum plaster may not be suitable. However, in shell and core construction, if it is used to temporarily resist high moisture conditions, it can be skimmed later once the building envelope is weather-tight. It is essential to apply plaster only to the face of the board and pre-treatment with ThistleBond-it is necessary.
  • Cutting: Holes for switch or socket boxes should be cut out with a utility saw or sharp knife before the boards are fixed. When cutting boards, power and hand tools should be handled with care and following the manufacturer's recommendations. Power tools should only be utilised by people who have been instructed and trained to use them safely. Appropriate personal protection equipment should be worn.
  • Decoration: After the joint treatment has dried, decoration, including and decorator's preparatory work, should follow with minimal delay.
