Description

Ideal for use as wall cladding in timber frame constructions or as a roof underlay, this membrane is CE-approved to EN13859 - 1 and EN13859 - 2 for use in pitched roofs and walls. This low-cost, versatile breather membrane is CPR-compliant and Grade E flame resistant. For direct application over boarded roofs, insulation or rafters, it is white on one side and black on the other, with only a 150mm overlap line as markings.

Im currently in the process of building an extension and the breather membrane specification are as follows: Roof: To BS8747:2007. Annex B, Type 1F or 5U. Inner leaf wall: Just states 2mm thick membrane. Does this membrane comply?

Answer:

This breather membrane is perfectly suitable and certified for roofing an wall applications. It will conform to buliding standards.

Question:

Can this be used inside the walls of my shed? If so, can I then place mineral wall slabs (Rwa45 for example) against the membrane or do I still need to leave an inch or more gap?

Answer:

The product is designed to be used as the outermost layer before any form of exterior cladding wall. You'll still need to leave approximately 25mm as an air gap between the insulation and membrane so that it can breath.
