SFBA MP is waterproof and resists the passage of moisture through walls, floors and ceilings. SFBA Met Poly is a multi-layer air bubble insulation with external layers of aluminium metalized PET. This provides a corrosion resistant and water tight insulation system. It can be used for insulating under floor, in walls, in dry lining such as for collars and can also be used in greenhouses and other industrial applications.

SFBA should be installed on the "warm" side of the insulated structure, with special care being taken to ensure that all seams and holes are sealed effectively to render the whole structure moisture and vapour proof and to improve thermal performance.
It is important that SFBA is installed as a continuous barrier in order to prevent vapour entering the wall or the roof.
All laps should be a minimum of 50mm and be sealed using SF jointing tape. Particular care is required when sealing around penetrations. Where the barrier is breached by construction elements, the aperture should be sealed with SuperFOIL tape.

What tape should be used with SuperFOIL SFBA MP?
Answer:
To ensure a consistant air-tight seal, 100mm wide foil tape should be used such as SuperFOIL Met Poly Tape. We recommend SuperFOIL Superior Tape for it's high strength and enhanced adhesive which allows it to be used even in cold weather.

What size Staples do I need to fix SuperFOIL SFBA MP?
Answer:
We recommend using a minimum 14mm staples for use with SuperFOIL SFBA MP. The staples should be adequate size to hold the SuperFOIL in place until your battens are fitted forming the permanent fixing.

What size Battens should I use with SuperFOIL SFBA MP?
Answer:
As SuperFOIL SFBA MP is a thin reflective bubble insulation, battens are not required. However your thermal performance will be significantly improved if you provide a clear cavity to one or both sides of the SuperFOIL. 25mm depth battens will create the required airspace for maximum thermal performance.
