ROCKWOOL stone wool products are designed to reduce sound in two ways: by obstructing the sound transmission through an element of the structure or by absorbing the sound into the surface. What are the dimensions of the slab?

Answer:

1200mm x 600mm x 100mm.

Question:

I have 4”/ 10cm thick stud wall. What thickness of Rockwell do I need? Or is there another product?

Answer:

By giving me those dimensions, that means that you have up to 100mm to play with when deciding what thickness is insulation to use.

Unfortunately we are not able to specifiy what products would be suitable, but the two most common products used would be the slab form of insulation (Rockwool and Celotex as an example)

I would recommend getting in touch with your local Building Authority/Control, as they have the facilities and the Expertise to be able to help answer this in detail for you.
